To worship the LORD is not only a temporary act of song and praise whether alone or with other believers. It should be viewed as a lifestyle of reverence, admiration, humbleness, a spiritual bow always before GOD.
For quick reference, I did not grow up in church. Therefore when I visited, I’ve always felt out of order of how things ran and of course what to do at what time. I’ve learned after being saved, that GOD is a GOD of order, so I understand it must be order in the house of congregation. To my surprise I’ve visited many churches to find a church “home” and I’ve learned church programs differ and I’ve always paid close attention due to being new. Furthermore, I would get pulled into details of what came next and positions reading the programs.
Through reading the Holy Bible and taking ear to the voice of GOD, I’ve noticed the actually idea of church seemed to have evolved from what I’ve read in Acts or Ephesians about fellowshipping among believers. I pray that through edification and of course evaluating what is more important to GOD that this will lead all of the body of Christ from the pulpit to the pews to worship the LORD as we should and not as we’ve known.
Please read Acts: 1 – 4 & Ephesians: 4 for examples of fellowship and expectation thereof among believers/disciples of Christ.
After digging a bit deeper and looking up the definition of worship in English and Hebrew (Shachah), I’ve realized a lot of miss opportunity for spiritual maturity among the body of Christ happens in the buildings. We’ve became religious to congregating that we fall short of the elevation of power the Holy Spirit can do in the midst of the congregation. Worship teams are great when we define it properly as musicians for the Lord however everyone should be in a place of worship as it is a lifestyle of one who believes in Jesus. There is no need for such a team.
According to James 5: (13 – 20 specifically) there is a call to action among us that should happen. Unfortunately we’ve got caught up in religious practices of program schedules, duties, titles, appearances and building up membership. Let us bring it back to the Word of GOD and build up what matters to HIM the most, the mind, body, heart, spirit and soul of HIS people. I say no matter how small or how big a church is, order and structure is important but we must allow the Spirit of the Lord to have it’s way. When we turn the idea of worship back to it’s definition and intention, individually and collectively we leave little room for warfare (…submit to GOD and the devil will flee) and the power of GOD will begin to manifest more greatly in the midst of the congregation and foster disciples, apostles, teachers, servers, healers, pastors, interpreters of Christ (1 Corinthians: 12) and not church members.
Also, this revelation was brought by the wanting to know how to truly worship GOD and with that also bridge the gap that we can easily be given unto worship of persons, places, things, routines, foods and more. HE is so precious by giving us HIS spirit that helps bring awareness to shortcoming of our nature because of HIS love for us. Thank you JESUS.
I pray that all who read this go into prayer with the Lord and first repent for any known and unknown worshipping that has created a chain of resistance to the purpose, calling and glorification of HIS name in your life, family, ministry and authority. Being led by the Holy Spirit please seek if there is any course of action needed to be taken on your behalf to assist with restoring proper worship. Be well and encouraged for the creation is waiting for the children of GOD to be revealed, we’re in this together.
Your Sister-In- Christ, KESHA ALEIN
I left scriptures for your reading because I want you to go and read for yourself. We should always go and read the Word for ourselves so we are never led astray by man’s word.
